What's The Mystery Substance?

Hi guys! To saturate the solution, we had to add teaspoons of citric acid to water and shake it. When we found chunks of citric acid on the bottom, that meant that the solution of saturated. We put in 14 teaspoons of the citric acid before it got saturated. Then, we put some of the solution on a petri dish and let it evaporate. These are the results after the citric acid evaporated. The citric acid still had some water, unlike the Epsom and kosher salt. The citric acid formed into small circle shaped crystals, and it didn't really look like crystals of Epsom and kosher salt. To saturate the solution, we needed to put much more spoons of the solute. When we filtered the citric acid, the liquid was yellow and smooth. I think that the color of the saturated solution was yellow because citric fruits like oranges and lemons are a yellowish color.
