How did you come up with your idea for the tower design?
We first looked at the materials in the green box and tried to think of what would help make the tower tall and stronger.
Did your group use your design? Combinations of students designs? Or someone else’s design? How was that decision made?
Our group used all 3 of our designs combined. This decision was made because we all had parts in our sketch that was good and would probably help keep the tower stable.
What specific materials made your tower strong?
We put another tennis ball inside the newspaper, to keep the tower from moving, and we also put skewers and straws on each side to make sure it was balanced.
How tall was the tower? (inches or cm)
Our tower was exactly 18 inches.
Did your tower withstand the ‘Chicago Wind’?
Our tower did not withstand the 'Chicago Wind,' but it withstanded the 'Cheesy Woodlands Breeze.'
If you were to do this activity again, what specifically would you do differently in designing/building your tower?
If I were to do this assignment again, I would make sure to save the tape since we don't have a lot, and I would try to make it more stable.
